Unforeseen extension of the stay
If there is an extension in your stay abroad, also insurance coverage can be extended. Important: the insurer must explicitly agree to the request for extension and reserves the right to decline the request without giving reasons! It is therefore advisable to purchase insurance for the entire journey.
The request for extension must be received by us prior to the expiration of the original insurance contract. The extension must start immediately after the expiration of the original contract and can be concluded for a period of up to 12 months after the expiration of the original contract. Illnesses and injuries and their consequences that occurred prior to the conclusion of the new contract are not covered.
The journey is terminated in advance
After the expiration of the requested period, the insurance coverage ceases automatically. If the contract is terminated before the agreed date because the insured person terminates his / her stay abroad in advance, only the actual insurance period until the date of termination is calculated. All premiums paid in excess of this period will be directly reimbursed without any administration fee.

The journey is interrupted for a stay at the insured person’s home country
In case of a contract period of at least three months, the following applies during a stay abroad: insurance coverage is also provided for a stay at the insured person’s home country, provided that the stay lasts no longer than four weeks.
Unpaid debit notes
Every return debit note causes administrative expenses and bank charges. Therefore we charge a processing fee of 15 Euros for every return debit note.
