EDUCARE WORLD Insurance - convenient and plain

General provisions

This insurance was designed for young people, who want to spend up to one or two years abroad. EDUCARE WORLD is a good choice for high school, work and travel and other exchange programs in the USA and in any other country worldwide. The insurance can be taken out for persons who have a permanent residence in Germany for at least two years and want to travel abroad. In exceptional cases, insurance can be provided to persons who have a residence in Switzerland, the European Union or another third country and travel abroad.

The insurance has to be purchased within 14 days of entering the respective foreign country and for the whole duration of the stay abroad (maximum: 13 months). Should the application for insurance be submitted later than 14 days after crossing the border, the waiting period for medical claims will be 14 days from the issue date of the insurance confirmation. No waiting period applies in case of accidents or when the insurance was purchased subsequently to a prior insurance. In this case, please hand in a copy of your prior insurance.

The minimum age of an insurable person is 15, the maximum age is 35 years.

When does insurance coverage begin?

Provided the appropriate premium has been paid, insurance cover begins on the date stated in the insurance certificate but not before starting your stay abroad.

When does the insurance expire?

The insurance automatically expires on the dated agreed. The maximum period of insurance cover is 13 months. If applied for, however, it can be extended for a maximum of further 12 months

Payment

The fees will be paid by direct debiting. When purchasing the insurance, the complete premium will be debited to your account. Direct debiting will be effected a few days after the insurance confirmation has been issued. In case of online purchase, payment by credit card is also possible.

Geographical scope

The insurance provides coverage while travelling in a foreign country. A foreign country is deemed to be any country world-wide, except the country of which the insured person holds nationality or in which the insured person has his/ her permanent residence (home country). If the contract has been concluded for at least three months you will also be covered for intermediate stays in your home country up to a maximum of 4 weeks.
